Our Story
A Pioneer in Intraoperative Diagnostics.
Reid Miller is a distinguished leader in surgical pathology with over 15 years of dedicated experience in the field. His expertise spans managing high-functioning, full-service pathology labs overseeing teams of more than 40 professionals, from administrative staff to physician assistants.
A pivotal moment in Reid's life was the sudden loss of his father to brain cancer. This redirected his career path from radiology to a deep-seated passion for surgical pathology. That personal connection became the driving force behind his innovative contributions to the field.
Reid became an early advocate and implementer of whole slide imaging and digital pathology, championing the transition from traditional glass slides to high-resolution digital images, unlocking new efficiencies for remote analysis and collaboration. Building on that digital foundation, he pioneered a groundbreaking real-time telepathology program: sourcing specialized equipment, creating comprehensive training guides, and developing competencies aligned with CAP and CLIA standards.
Today, Reid contracts with facilities across the Pacific Northwest serving six hospitals and multiple surgery centers and ENT practices and founded Intraoperative Diagnostics to bring these specialized services to underserved communities and practices that lack direct access to a pathologist. He is also a sought-after speaker at national conferences on telepathology and the future of intraoperative care.
